Default Kingquad dirt getting past air filter

Hello everyone out there. I want to say that this site is great. I have an 05 Kingquad (1600 mi 175 hr) and it started puffing smoke, haveing a hard time starting and then stalling. I took it into the local dealer and you guessed it the top end is junk. I did have a UNI air filter on it but I only put it on a month ago (too late). My bill comes to $2800. I'm working on getting Suzuki to pay for it with little luck. So here lies my questions. Is there a ultimate fix for the problem or is this going to be an ongoing issue? Does the UNI filter work or is there another brand of filter that works better? Has anyone filed any type of suit against Suzuki? If so do you have case #s? What is the best approach to my dealer and/or rep? Is it a good idea to call Suzuki direct with my problem? My head is spinning, any help would be great.

Thanks, Phillip

If you have the stock filter off you should be fine as long as you keep it clean and wish you luck not sure if there are any lawsuites or not I am sure someone knows on here but wish ya luck...Welcome to the forums also

It is important that your filters are kept clean. The Uni's work fine, but you must use a tacky filter oil on both the outside AND inside foams. If not, the dealer (factory) could claim that you were negligent. Just a heads up.
