No change as far as I have seen so I would definitely change it out. Really dumb if you ask me. But I guess if they made a change, they would be admitting there was an issue with the original design.
Look at it this way, you change it out, you get a reusable filter instead of a throwaway. Will save you money in the long run. Be sure the bottom of the filter seals good against the airbox. They make a air filter sealing grease for just that purpose. Wouldn't hurt to apply some there.

Thanks that seems like a easy fix, yes your right kind of stupid with a machine so fine otherwise. I would just order the filter at the smae time of purchase so by the time i hit 100 miles i could change it out.
Not sure if i am going with the new grizz or the kq. I wonder which machine has higher water intake. I know the new grizz has higher ground clearance. my 02 660 was a little tippy but i have heard with the irs the new 07 has been improved.

one problem we have where i live new constructions has taken over so getting harder and harder to fine places to right.
but 10 miles west of me theres places to ride, just use to like to leave from my house but those days are gone i guess.
is this the same for your area
