Default Help LT 80

Just purchased a $250 LT 80.

I hope I made a good deal.

It has been sitting for a year and needs major work.

Exhaust fell into pieces when I touched it. Bearings in all wheels are bad. No key. (how can I get a new one?). Rust everywhere. Looks like I'm in for a full rebuild. I need a new cover for the seat. Plastics are all good.

Where do I start? I am currently soaking all bolts in liquid wrench.

So many questions. Any threads on here that detail this process?

LT80 I may be calling on you for engine advice when I get that far. Of course my kids want it done today.

Look for me here often and I will be looking on ebay for parts. Any other good sources for used parts?

Thanks in advance!!!

I agree, my dealer is always closed by 4. How can anyone get there on time?

Let me tell you a funny story. I have the bike down to the engine and the frame. Rolled it out of the garage to sweep and when I started to push it back in I pulled on the starter one pull. (Bear in mind this machine has not been run in over a year) No gas tank at all. IT STARTED!! and ran about three minutes no exhaust pipe no nothing. Talk about a bulletproof engine!

Lets keep in touch and talk about the ins and outs of these things.

Joey

dude its a blast rebuilding these babies. i bought mine from ebay for 207.00 it ran but had a bearing noise. the night i got it home i tore it apart and started getting parts. ebay is a good place to buy parts but beware some people put all their broken crap on there. LT80 is very up and up on them. he helps usually anyone that posts requesting info. very smart. you might get a better response out of him if you moved this thread to the kid quads section. thats where i usually posted. do a search on the 80's and you'll find mega info. have fun fixing it i know i did. theres nothing like taking your kids out on the weekend and doing some riding TOGETHER. enjoy..................... sandmouse
