Default 1985 230 quadrunner fuel pump issue?

Hey everyone,
I have a 1985 230 quadrunner and its not running right. I took the lines off of the fuel pump today and i can blow through all three holes. Is this right? Shouldnt the diaphram hole on the front of it not blow air through it?

I was kind of figuring so. I just wanted some reasurance from a few people. Thanks for the help. Any other thoughts from anyone? Before i go buy a new one that is. Would have been nice if they had a rebuild kit for the fuel pump.

The fuel tank on this one is actually under the seat lower than the carb. I hooked an old gas tank off another bike onto my carb and held it up high and the bike ran fine. The Place I look at parts fiches and order my parts is actually cheaper then bike bandit. www.Partswarehouse.com So far they've done me right.
