Default Need Help.....

I got a 91 quad racer and I just replaced the brake pads and rotor. It was a really tight fit and after driving up the road and back my rotor was red hot, warped, and my outside brake pad was chipped. The reason I replaced the rotor was because it was warped and the outside brake pad was worn down to the metal. Anybody have any ideas??

sounds like your caliper isnt releasing. good chance since he obviosly heated it up riding metal to metal. rebuild kits are pretty reasonable like 20 bux.

Don't know about the rebuild kits, but if you use a c-clamp and an old pad, the caliper should go back in without much resisitance. Is the parking brake still on the bike? If so, you need to also adjust that. If you don't readjust it for the extra pad thickness, it could be preventing the caliper from returning to the proper position.
