Vinson or Eiger? You prefer what?

I know the Vinson is a bigger machine but I want to know the good and the bad just comparing the two. I am trying to decide between the two and can't. They are both comparable in price($4600 to $5300). Can anyone say they would definetely not buy either one if they had a choice? Reliability, mechanics, body etc. Thanks

My dads friend has a eiger. As far as I'm concerned the vinson is alot better machine. No matter what we are doing mud, snow, hill climbing, topend speed, Anything.. the vinson is better! I think in the long run you will be happier with the vinson. as far as reliable the vinson is one of the most reliable out there. They are built pretty good.

i have a 07 vinson manual shift...............
i didn't have any experience with the newer style atv's, but i tested out an Eiger, Forman, Rancher, and Vinson, before i made my choice of the Vinson! a guy i work with has an eiger, which performs great! i wanted just alittle more EEMMMPPPHHH, and after negotiation a dealer down from MSRP $6499 down to $4900 ($5900 out the door tax, tag, title), i had to go with the Vinson!
i have 25 miles on it and every time i use it, it pulls better and better. the dealer said after i hit apx 50 mi it will be right on the verge of fully broke in. buy their (and the manuals) recomended service milage (100mi) he said it will almost feel like a different 4 wheeler!
i asked about tires...........how a mud grip would effect pulling power (how much it would lug down), and about size (going up from a 25 to a 26 and adding an extra 1"-2" of width)! the head service mechanic said the Vinson woun't be effected as bad as the Eiger would be! i drove my friends Eiger before he put some 26 mud lites on, and i noticed a pretty good difference in power!
over all the Vinson is probably more than i'll ever need for work, and it hauls my 225lb butt around w/ my wife and don't even break a sweat!!

I love my Eiger, but if I could go back I would get the Vinson, power is not an issue I just would like a liquid cooled atv. If you want really hard core look at the AC same engine but it comes with the diff lock and IRS in both the 400 and 500 and it has 12" of ground clearance. Just my $.02 hope this helps.

Why would you want liquid cooled? if you want a really basic machine that still has decent power, a 400 air cooled is fine. I'ld be scared to wreck the radiator on a liquid cooled machine.

I really like the Suzuki and Yamaha line of Utility ATV's I tried all the brands and all the machines from 350cc - 500cc class, not Polaris (I'll never have another one). In the end I was looking at one each of the two brands. 400cc is plenty of power for me. I also wanted basic styling, and good rider protection from mud, full floor boards, Hi-Lo range, selectable 4wd, and a comfortable machine that I could ride from 6am - 7pm and not feel totally drained.
I settled for nothing, the Eiger was the machine for me. My biggest gripe has been not buying a automatic version for my second machine. Anyhow, i've got about 380 miles on it now without an ounce of trouble. It is probably my favorite machine of all I've owned and I've owned a few.
Needless to say, it all depends on the style of driving you intend to do with it. I'm mostly found around in the mountains out here in UT. Often times its steep rocky / rough trails and I'm almost always going less than 12mph. If you want a little bit sportier machine, then the Vinson may be just the ticket.
Either way, in my opinion, you are on the right track. Both are good, both are different enough that one would suit you better than the other. YOU have to decide that one for you. Choose the machine that works best for you and you'll never regret it.
