I recently replaced the front sprocket on my 1988 LT250R and noticed that the sprocket has free play in it (both side to side and front to back)once the circle clip was re-installed. Is this normal for an LT250R? I noticed this also with the old sprocket before I took it off?

Also, can anyone provide me with information/experience on how durable the bottom end is on these machines. I purchased mine fairly recently and have no prior experience with them. The quad I purchased is in pretty good shape and I didn't detect any play in the crankshaft when I tried moving the magneto around.
Thanks!

What's up Canton! LT250r, you can tell when the bottom end is having problems, the bike will get the shakes/rattles when it idles. On your sprocket, did it have a like spacer molded onto it? It should and it goes into the in side. Also there should be alittle play in it side-to-side, but not front-to-back. Does the shaft look chewed up?

QuadDude05, DeGraff A! I have some family there, so small of a town you'll know them. Mike and Tam Idle, daughter Judy? Anyways, Lima is a good quick trip for some fun. Only $5 to ride all day, some hills, lots of field running, a track with jumps, drag strip and misc stuff - some mud holes if you like that sort of thing. E-mail me and I'll give you directions there. Catch you later.
