ok got a few questions. Currently deployed to iraq right now. I found this quad in a home town newspaper. the price they are asking is 2500. My wife is currently back home and will go look at it today. i told her kinda of what to look for. (The obvious) Is there any other things that should be looked at? I told her to take a bunch of pics of everything. The bad thing is that i will be home in a month, but i dont want to pass this deal up. And what kind of problems does this year have, if any? thank you guys in advance.

 

Some will say the front shock mount cracking problem was fixed by '04, other will say not. So, my 1st bit of advice is to have her look very close at the front shock mount welds. If there is any paint flaked off or obvious rewelding there has been movement there.

2nd, if she is engine wise at all, have her notice any blue smoke on start-up or revving the engine up, oil burning of course. Next tell her to listen to the engine for any clicking or tapping. This will tell you/her if the valves are badly out of adjustment.

3rd, general overall condiiton. Plastic,tires,sprockets,rims dents,bumpers (dents or paint worn) etc.
