Default Copperhead ECU

New to this forum. Just bought a 07 kingquad 700, cant stand all the safety features of this quad. Just looked at the VDI website and they are saying the copperhead ECU will be out mid April 07. Tryed calling them but they dont answer or return phone calls.

I love the bike itself, it looks good, plenty of power passed 8MPH, love the suspension. I read about a power commander module, what exactly does that do for the quad. Has any one used one and are you satisfied with it.

Thanks
Orlie

Orlie,

Congrats on the new King.

There is a thread "KQ Replacement ECU" on the King Quad forum on nyrocatv.com. There is alot of information about this.

Most King owners have upgraded the air filter. It seems the factrory paper filter lets a little dirt through. You also may want a steering damper or stabilizer. The King steers really easy but if you hit a bump (tree root, rock, etc.) the handle bars can be jerked out of your hands.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that ECU . They've been promising that thing "in a month" for I don't know how many months now. it's always "in final testing stages" or some such story. It is just so much vaporware at this point.
