I stopped at the Dealer today I bought an EIGER filter for $14.95 The regular Suzuki oil was $6.95 a qt (not synthetic) I didn't buy the oil I bought valvloline ATV oil at Autozone. I plan on switching to a synthetic after 150-200 miles. But my Question is does anyone use normal car oil?? Auto zone carried ACDelco filters,Bosch,Fram and STP does any one one know if any of those company's make an oil filter that will fit the EIGER?

ive always ran car oil, ive went with shell. i am unsure whether those companies make atv oil filters. k&n makes oil filters that fit atvs for around 5-6 bucks. i doubt the dealer will sell k&n, but check out rockymountainatv.com, they sell them, and are pretty good with prices and shipping.

Interesting, I was told that atv oil had or didn't have certain ingredients in it since the engine oil also lubricates the clutch, I was also told that you could get away with running car oil for a time but it would eventually catch up with you and ruin the clutch, especially in a sport quad that gets a lot more action, they said a less aggressive rider could get away with this longer than someone that rides hard. as far as automatics go I really don't know anything, I only asked various people about my z. Anyway this is just what I have been told and am interested in hearing more about this as well

Thanks for the info.. For now I am sticking with the Valvoline ATV oil because it is half the price pf Suzuki. And Definetly getting an aftermarket oil filter $14 is insane My chrome Harley filter is $13 and that is a rip off....

When you make the switch to synthetic consider Rotella 5w40. Walmart stocks it.

Been using Mobil one "Red Cap" 15W-50 in all my machines now for years. No problems. I think as long as you use an oil that does NOT say "Energy Conserving" on it, you'll be fine. It's the additives that they use in the "Energy Conserving" oils that make a wet clutch slip.
