Default Eiger Speedometer Question

My 05 Eiger's speedometer is not working. Took it for a ride and it only goes up to 10 mph. Any solutions or ideas as to what the problem could be? Thanks.

Default Eiger Speedometer Question

This has never happened to my Eiger, but my dad has a yamaha kodiak and his speedo cable will come unscrewed from the back of the speedo and will cause almost the same problem. If he lets it go long enough it will stop working all together. All he has to do is screw it back on. Which is easier said than done.

Default Eiger Speedometer Question

I tried screwing the cable in further and it is in all the way. There must be something wrong internally. Anyone else have this problem?

Disconnect the cable at both ends and see if you can slide the cable out of the casing.
It sounds like it's a broken cable.

Scott- The odometer/trip meter still works so I don't know if the cable is the problem. There must be a little sripped gear in the unit.

The only electronic thing about it is the light. It's all mechanical.
