There is no way you are going to "murder" a 250ex. You might beat it by a couple lengths if you shift it perfectly and wind out the gears just enough. My buddy has a 250ex and for a 250 it hauls a$$. It has no top end, im sure it wont go to much over 40, but for rippin around trails its fine. My Z400 is way overkill for trails and I usually dont ride it when im going out on trails. Autoclutch is semi automatic. You can clutch to rev it up before shifts, and you can pop the clutch to do wheelies if you want. You can just buy a Z400 and you can just drive it in 1-4 and hit it and stand it straight up. You can also just shift it without clutching. But anyways, yeah the Z250 is better but not by TOO much.

On a 250ex?? You just rev it up and hold the clutch in and pop it. My friend can get enough momentum do do a wheelie without popping it but that requires a LOT of strength.

trxrevoraceros18 is right except the part where he said his z400 is too much for the trails...nothing is ever too much

Well I usually ride in a small backyard "trail system" which has trails that might be 25 foot long on a 10 acre tract. I hardly ever get out of first gear, sometimes into second, but then i have to downshift and brake. My old raptor 350 was perfect for the trails, which was slow as heck lol. When we ride in the coal mines in PA the Z400 is just enough or sometimes not enough, but it serves its purpose as a good quad. A Z250 is a fine machine for anyone and it would be an amazing trail quad and something to have some fun on.
