will cuttin the fenders off hurt the resale of my quad

Whenever you modify anything, be it a car, truck, or ATV, you make it more desirable to a smaller group of people and less desirable for a wider range of people.
Think rice burners ... the value of a car which some kid cut the springs, threw decals on everywhere, and put a fart can muffler on, is going to be greatly reduced for 95% of the public. However, 5% of the people left may actually like that sort of thing...

Nope. What he's saying is that 95% of the potential buyers of your quad will not be interested in buying it because of the mods. There may be a few who would consider buying a modded quad, but frankly many of them are the type who want to do the mods themselves.
Bottom line is that yes, cutting the fenders will really kill the resale value of your quad.

your better off buying like race cut plastics for your quad and then putting the stocks on before you sell it and just sell the race cut on ebay or on the forums then.

i was searching around and didnt come up so lucky on precut fenders. The other option is to buy another set of plastics and just cut those up, stock fenders can be had for under 100 on ebay.
