Default My Eiger Story

I'm new to the forums here. In 2002 i won a suzuki eiger at a gun raffle in butler county. Problems from the get go though...the whole transmission needed replace because it was near impossible to move it from N to H or anywhere else. after that got fixed i haven't had a problem since. out of all the other quads i've rode the eiger is definately my favorite. we have an older polaris xplorer at the camp, and it does not ride neaerly as nice.

Now, im thinking about putting a few add on items to it. i really want to re-jet it and put a K&N air filter on it first. any suggestions???

Does anyone know anything about drilling out the exhaust pipe? ive heard of doing this but dont know anyone personally who has.

whats the best tire upgrade to do here? bigger?

I have a 2005 what i upgraded so far are the tires i blew out one of my stock ones so i moved into the same size but more aggresive dirt devils all the way around they are 6 ply compared to the standard 2 ply for stock they ride great. there is slip on systems for your exhaust but i cant find one yet for mine also i put a 2000 pound winch on mine sears.com sells a ton of stuff for atvs that is were i got it . if you see the same thing cheaper thye just refunded the diff.

I've got an 05 auto and really like mine as well. Are the 6 ply tires alot heavier than the stock tires? What are some brands that would offer 4 or more ply tires? Just curious.

If you're not doing a lot of mudding I'd suggest the normal mudlite. I found that the Eiger just doesn't have enough power if you're trying to have fun with an aggressive tire, it won't spin like the stockers do. The K&N filter would be fine, but I'd suggest running an outwear on it, and make sure it seals against the airbox well, if not use some sealing grease. You could jet up to a 128 or 132 depending on your altitude.
