rad is likely so full of mud and maybe the wiring on the fan shorted out.

get it very clean (pressure wash) let it dry out in the sun and get the shop manual and your multimeter out to do power checks to the fan motor and relay as you probubly have a short, blown fan fuse, or burned out fan motor. There is no guess work here you have to do the elec diagnostic checks and whether or not the fan is working and why is probubly one of the easiest. Otherwise you have to take it to the shop and the international rule for electrical problems is $100 minimum and $100 per hour plus parts so your looking at $300 unless you read, test, and repair it yourself and learn something new in the process. Something only you can do since you have the bike in front of you and all we can do is take blind stabs at the problem.

hehe
But really though, somethings probably either shorted out, or theres a fuse thats out( not sure what fuses are on the Z even though i have one haha) or the fan is just locked up.

In other words i gots no idea. haha

check to make sure you have coolant in the radiator. If their is no fluid in the radiator the coolant temp sending unit will not read the temp of the fluid I crashed my vinson back in January, and it broke the lower bracket on the radiator and all fluid ran out

CWO...just wondering where exactly the cooling fan fuse is? Reply back, PM me, or send an email to: matt.h.bloom@uconn.edu

Snowprincess,
Just wondering how everything panned out for you? I have a very similar problem where my quad is just running too high. The temp light is on and the radiator fan just doesn't kick on. I'm going to check the fan fuse and the sensor, but other than that im not too sure what else could be the problem. There is power running and it has coolant.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Matt (matt.h.bloom@uconn)
