Default New Vinson Owner...no owners manual

Just bought a used 04 Vinson semi auto but it didn't come with an owners manual. Before I start riding it I want to change all of the fluids and change the spark plug, etc. Bascially give it a tune up and once over I guess. I was wondering if someone would be able to help me out with fluid capacities and suggested types/grades on my Vinson. I found already that the oil is 3800cc or 3.8qt but can't seem to find anything else. Also what is the spark plug gap?

I have one riding question with this model. Can I switch from 2wd to 4wd while the atv is moving? Is there a max speed when doing this? Since I don't know, right now I'm stopping and then pushing the 2wd/4wd button so I don't tear anything up. Thanks in advance for any and all help. New to this forum and therefore this is my first post but it looks like a wealth of info can be found here.

I have an auto tranny, & my manual lists engine oil capacity as 2.9 quarts with filter, 2.6 quarts without filter.

Differential gear oil 10.1 oz
Final gear oil 11.8 oz
Engine coolant 2.1 quart

Spark Plug gap 0.7-0.8mm (0.028-0.032in)

What other capacities do you need?

The 3800 cc is for a manual tranny. I would recommend Amsoil synthetic for the crankcase. I like to be stopped before changing in/out of 4x4.

Thank you, I appreciate the help. Glad to know that the local dealer didn't get the crankcase capacity wrong. I couldn't get my hands on Amsoil readily so I went with some Valvoline 10W-40 4 stroke oil. Changed the oil (pretty black coming out) and the filter with a Fram PH6018. This bike only has 300 miles and 78 hours on it so I'm not sure how many oil changes it has had. Local service manager recommended this weight for the hot weather down here in south Alabama. What is the recommended oil change interval hours or miles or both?I got one more question, is this Vinson shaft or belt driven?

The Vinsons are shaft drive to the axles. The Auto tranny models have a belt driven transmission.

Hey LG, where are you located in L.A.? Bay Minette for me. Did you buy the bike out of the Mobile Register? I have one in the paper, an 05, just came out yesterday.

On the oil change, it depends on how dirty the oil is. I try to change mine at 500 miles, needed or not.

Camo I'm in Enterprise, southeast corner of LA. I got my Vinson from a listing I found on atvtraderonline.com. Good luck selling your 05.

It says in my manual to change engine oil @ 2000km or 6 months. I change mine every 2000km it is always pretty "clean". The initial service is 200km or 20hrs. I am due for another at 6000km, I have near 5900km on my 2004 Vinson now.
