Ok, I agree, the Z with a few mods, will "hang" with the LTR.
I sold my 450R to get the LTR and it was a good move (for my style of ridding in the AZ desert).

 

There both GREAT quads. But I bet my Grizzly 700 can go in deeper mud holes, just kidd'in!
If you ever get the chance to ride a grizz 700 go for it. It will wheelie just by punching it. I love this quad but I'd sleep with the Z if I could get her in the house!

These kinds of forums tick me off. I did a cam change, exhaust, jetted, rev box, 13t front sprocket, drz base gasket and spanked to crap out of a 07 450r back and forth. about 10 times in a row. he would get me off the line and I would run him down by 3rd gear and walk away.

And the forums are to blame for this?

 

Take him in some narrow trails and you'll have no trouble staying with him. Somewhere that reverse comes in real handy.
