im getting an o3 z 400 and my friends getting a Raptor700. im getting the quad from craigslist and it has a fmf pipe and powerbomb header. its got a k&n filter and jet kit. Is there anything i can do to get the quad to keep up with the 700. i was looking at bore kit but i dunno how big i want to go. i want one that wont decrease its life span a large amount. i dont want to have to do to much work to the motor like porting and head valve work and whatnot to have the quad be really fast for a while then blow up. i need it to be reliable but fast and still be trail ridable. any suggestions and help will be appreciated.

piston and cam will add a nice ammount of hp. not really sure what bore kits are good for z400s. very light wheels and tires will make a big difference. i think like 1 pound of spinning mass on the bike is like 11 lb of human wieght on it. and of course the best way to keep up with him is to be better than him!

Nitrous or turbo should do the trick.
Otherwise you'll spend more than the quad is worth getting it to rev out to 15,000 to get the kind of power you need to beat a 700. We're talk a custom cam, super high compression (race fuel),,,, crank, rod, piston, head, port, and valve work. Then a new rev box, bigger carb, and an open exhaust. Pretty much redesign the whole engine.
