what one is better and which one would you prefer more?

i would also like to know about a banshee and the LT,like how do hey compare(top speed, handling, maitnence, and jumping or suspension)

i would like to go fast(faster than my freind's 2001 400EX) or same speed is also ok.

i found

1988 LT500R for $1,800
1986 LT250R for $1,250
1991 LT250R for $1,200

so are those good prices? also, are the LT expensive to keep with and to fix?

could someone answer all those question for me,thanks alot

I would go w/ the Banshee because it is sronger and more reliable. It should handle jumps and high speeds better too.

No way dose the Banshee handle jumps better than the LT250R, in my oppion it is better than the trx 250r. I have never rode an LT500 so I cant say. As for top speed it all depends on your riding style. If you like the newer model quads go for the Banshee, to dragrace go for the banshee, if you want to run in the woods or ride on mx tracks go for the LT.
my .2 cents

250r89 Is rite. Dont get the shee unless you want to strictly drag or dune with it. The Lt has better suspension and Tons of bottom end Its way better in the woods or mx track. If you do get a Lt250r get a 1989 or up.

1991 Lt250r :
Ceet seat cover,DG alloy front bumper,DG alloy rear grabar,DG alloy nerf bars ,Emgo bars,Pro design kill switch,Pual turner pipe,Fatboy silencer,Maier plastic(Looks awsome I put lots of cool stickers on it),Uni air filter,Shockwears,Parking brake block off,RTC clutch lever,Motion pro twist throttle(took a while to get used to!),Leager A arms ,Ohlins front shocks(got them with the quad the look kinda old),Homemade motor skid(from speed limit sign),Turf tammers on back,IPT hole shot up front,And probly other stuff to but I cant think of all of them rite now. Any of those three will be more than enough for the 400EX speedwise. My lt500r has no problem with any of those 4strokes. Also, I have had only one encounter with a Banshee. He claimed it would do 100 mph. He went home disappointed. I have never ran across a wheeler that could match my speed. On the trail, however, I have problems negotiating this wide bike around trees. I wish a magazine would get one of these in their next hi-po shootout.

There is nothing better for hauling *** in the woods, dunes and Mx. then a LT. I have owned a Banshee and a 250r Honda. I have owned a Lt500r since 1987.
There was a question about top speed. Using stock gearing & tires my LT will go 87 mph. When it is setup for ice drag racing it will pull 112 mph thru the lights.

wow,112mph,,,,i would love to feel that speed on a quad (or even a car for that matter!!!!!)

anyways,,im still torn between the two now,,the 250r or 500r,,i want to fly,but someone said something about being big on some trails and hard to move it around,,,,,well i would like to ask how many people have had trouble with their 500 being to big for a trail??????

also, how much money does it cost for your 500R to get up to 110mph? will it do that much in the sand,or how fast will it go on a paved road?

Lots of people in this forum are from Michigan and we just can't wait to see you at Tip-up Town, doing 112 MPH on the ice...
Only four days left...
Chuck, Suzuki KQ 300, GPS & lunch...
