Z400 warped rear OEM rotors. Wave rotor??
We have an '04 Z400. I've gone through 2 rotors (first one was bent when we got it.) Second one somehow got bashed. It was a good aftermarket cross-drilled rotor, but once you bend it, it's done.
I've bought 3 USED, factory rotors off of ebay. 2 were noticably warped, and one the best one is a bit warped. I checked them on a sheet of glass with a feeler guage to confirm it's the rotor and not a bent hub.
SO do factory rotors just warp cuz they're crappy? Are these wave style rotors less prone to warping? I was going to buy a Tusk Typhoon rotor from rockymountain for $60.
We ride a lot of mud and rock and rough terrain. I put a 1/4" alum skid plate on, but it's only so-so. I also find trapped mud tends to wear the pads off WAY before they ever get worn out from actual use. We've tried a few different brands. My advice is go with the cheapest pad you can get, because none of them last anyways.

I know how you feel. I replaced my rotor 4 months after I got the bike, always making to much noise. bought a vented rotor for around $80 and its been through everything and still going strong. Im still running my stock pads and still working great
