I know its a atv forum but i know you guys have dirt bikes. Im about it get back into riding dirt bikes and i found a 2001 rm 250 for a price i cant ignore. The guy that owned it had the chain skip and come off after a wreck" he broke his leg". The chain gaurd isnt on it anymore and oil is leaking from the from the front sproket?? what going on? what do i need to do when i buy it and whats going on. Any direction will be nice thanks.

 

You need to change part 41 and 20 from this schematic.

Click on "Tranmission" link from that site than look at part 41 and 20.

Good news parts are cheap,bad news lots of tear down labour.
