How many pieces is the motor in? That may be a good thing.... Less work to tear it down.
I'm about to tear mine down to the transmission to replace 4th gear with a 250S 4th gear. I'm also sending the crank off for a new (longer) rod and bearings. Last month I bought a big bore kit for it. So, its sounds like we might be in this together.

The '85,6,7 and 8 are all the same iirc. In 89 they switched the plastics a bit and made the motor a 250. This one is the manual clutch, right? Suzuki also made an auto clutch, same chassis for a few years. They also used that 230 engine mated to a shaft drive in a utility. If it is the manual clutch, you have those 4 years to chose from, and many parts are probably in common with the later years too, but I don't know which ones.
