Default fuel screw 03 z400

Just a few questions. The dyno instructions for stage one after market pipe suggests a 144 main, 3rd clip needle and 2.5 turns out on fuel screw. In other diagrams and pictures the fuel screw is the middle **** above the main jet correct? So in order to adjust this all i need to do is turn the **** in to lean it out and out to richen it up? Also, is there any other way to adjust the fuel screw without opening up for carb? thanks.

The fuel screw is behind a brass plug on the bottom of the carb externally, engine side. If it hasn't been removed by someone else already, you'll have drill the plug out carefully.

2.5 turns out from seated is correct. In leans, out richens, on a 4-stroke. 2-strokes are just the opposite.
