I have a stock 88 lt500, what are the major limitations for the motor? I would like to improve perfomance, should I focus on a carb-exhaust combo, port and polish or reed valves. Keep cost in mind. Also, has anyone else out there had a problem where the linkage on the rear suspsension would over-extend causing the travel to jack the rear end up and make the suspension super hard?

Hi,
A Q-pipe, V-2 reeds and carb mod is a really good start.
I would check out the quadracerhq.com forums for more info.
That is where the people who know how to mod the Zillas and LT250rs go.
Good luck,
RK

Mine had a 87 cylinder (bigger intake) ,Paul Turner pipe and Keihin PWK39 carb. Aside from a drag race only machine I cant see how I could have used more power.
