Need Help 1986 Suzuki Quadrunner 230
#1
My grandfather had a 86 230 quadrunner in his barn since 1990. the carb started leaking and he let it sit. It had under 250 miles on it when he finally let me pull it out. i removed the carb, and replaced it with the carb from an 87 230 quadsport. i had to change out a few things but all in all it wasn't too difficult. i did get it running, and i have ridden it so far roughly 50 miles. but i have noticed something, and i cannot figure this out. on the carb there is 3 lines.
one "overflow" line(very bottom)
one feed line (i presume) (top left)
and now one more line.(bottom left)
all lines are connected to the carb, but only ONE line actually goes to something.
the overflow is on the bottom. the feed is top left, and the ?? is on the bottom left.
i cannot find where this last fuel line goes to, and i feel it shouldn't be ran until it is addressed. the quad starts and runs, but bogs very bad and will shut down after being ran and allowed to sit. i had to bump the idle screw to get it to not shut off when sitting. and i know this isn't good
does anyone have a diagram or an answer as to where this line goes? any help would be EXTREMELY appreciated. thank you

Here's a schematic for the 87 carb that shows the stock hoses: http://alpha-sports.com/satv/1987/LT230S/05.htm The little thing sticking up to the left of the "8" is where the fuel goes in. Its the same place it goes in on the quadrunner as well: http://alpha-sports.com/satv/1986/LTF230/07.htm
The line on the very bottom of the carb is likely a drain line. There should be a screw next to it. Loosen the screw and gas comes out.
The line at the top of the carb is a vent.... So air can get in. The hose is just there to keep dust out.
The remaining line is for the gas to enter.
You've opened a real can of worms with this project because now you have a carb from a sport on a utility (I hope you at least changed/checked the air filter!). The 2 quads might have different exhausts, cams, valve sizes,,, who knows.... Unless you want to spend lots of time tuning the sport carb to the ute, you should just clean the ute carb and put it back on. Come to think of it, where is the 87 quadsport? I would rather ride IT!
