Default Suzuki Eiger - It is right for me??

I am an absolute newbie when it comes to ATVs. However, I have found myself wanting one around the farm. Primarily I want to drag around a 100 gallon sprayer. Also, I might want to tow a small fishing boat to one of my ponds. Of course just riding it around and inspecting different areas of the farm will be done as well.

I have been watching the ads for ATVs around where I live and came across a 1995 automatic, 4 wheel drive Suzuki Eiger with only 2 hours and 30 miles for $3500.00.

Would this be an appropriate machine for my needs?

I have also been looking at the Honda Foreman. I am wanting used, and not wanting to spend over 3500.00. Thanks for your suggestions and comments.

I absolutely love my '02 suzuki 4x4 eiger. I would look around though. I got my '02, fully automatic 4x4 400 eiger for $2300 off of craigslist. Mine had 1100 miles on it and was in excellent condition. I got mine to go trail riding with and to plow snow in the winter. I can't wait for winter to get here, haha.

I did a lot of research before I bought my Eiger. I am one satisfied customer.

Something sounds wrong here...1995 Suzuki Eiger? I believe they came out in like 2001 or 2002. Do you mean 2005?
Eiger is a great all around quad. Very minimal which is good, less to go wrong. Plows great. Oil cooled, will run all day without overheating.

Yup, same here. I bought one of the first Eigers out there - a 2002 model. Besides that, a 2005 model with 30 hours at $3,500 is a decent price while the same $3,500 is way too much for any 1995 model 400cc 4x4.

Eigers are great. Ours has over 10,000km (6200miles) at 30km/h (20mph) avg, so that is 300hours. It hasn't died yet and is still running strong.

They seem to be durable quads, I think one for the farm would be great. Very simple reliable quads. One thing to note is the belt drive tranny, not something to worry about, just something that will need ocasional checking and maintenance...however Suzuki has a great belt system, so not generally something to worry about...

you dont even need to check the belt. It's fine. Just make sure you don't go through a ton of mud that's higher than the muffler/seat/cvt vent and you will be fine
