96 King Quad 300 clogged oil cooler
#1
Last weekend I went for a long ride with my king quad and it started to overheat. It was running fine but started sputtering and running real weak. If I put the choke on it would run a bit better. I stopped to check it out and found the oil cooler stone cold. There is plenty of oil in the machine and it was only 6 months old. My brother has a Kq also and his oil cooler was hot. My oil light never came on, not sure if it does when it overheats.
Does this sputtering and rough running sound like it was due to overheating?
I plan on changing the oil/filter, remove the cooler lines and blowing them and the cooler out with air to see if it helps. Anyone else have any ideas what would cause this problem?
