So, I bit the bullet and I have new wheels and tires for the KQ. After the UPS man delivered them, I compared them to the old Dunlops that came on the quad. You guys are right, the new tires have much larger lugs and there's more of them on the front tires. Now I have to get them mounted so I can try them out. Sure hope these get me up Tin Cup or I'll never hear the end of it. But for sure, this is the best the King and I are gonna get... And we're in it to the end...

Archer, I have Bear Claws, 24x9x11, front AT-589's, 25x10x12, for the rear. I hope they will do well on the King, in mud and gravel. I have new Douglas Wheels for each, aluminum .190, which seems to be the choice of utility machine owners for less weight, durablity and strength. If you have any suggestions or knowledge about these, please feel free. I welcome any comments. I don't yet have the wheels and tires mounted.

Before you deflate old tires measure height with proper air pressure. Because you have diff brand tires the stagger may not be right, been there don't like it. After installing new tires alter air pressure to get proper stagger height difference. Good luck

Good luck with the purchase of the new tires Robh. Hope you and me have lots of enjoyment on them. I got the tires mounted onto the wheels today for $7.00 each. That price, at a local tire dealer, beat all the ORV and motorcycle dealers in the area. I got prices ranging from $10.00 to 24.00 for the same amount of work, from each of them.
Not familiar with the term "stagger" as you suggest, sxr6...
Please explain. Thanks,
Chuck

Don't know about Rocky Mtn. always having the best deal. Last spring my brother got a set of 489's for his KQ from RM. Tire price was great. Then you add in shipping and local mounting and it becomes less great. Toss in the shipping time and the fact that they messed up on one front tire size and it becomes less of a deal.
I went to my local auto/truck tire dealer, ordered the same full set of 489's for my KQ. Got them in and mounted the next day. Paid $1.92 more than the total deal from RM.
My dealer gave me a good deal 'cause I buy lots of tires from them. The RM $ are a good deal too, but it can't hurt to shop around, you just never know.
