Default 2008 king quad 400 problems

My 08 king quad 400 w/300 miles on it is having some issues, when I let it idle it dies unless I choke it and some times while running it it wont let me give it gas sounds like its gonna die out.. Do I need to take the carb off and clean it I have been through some mud but I clean it very well every time I ride it.. :confused

clean the carb. if ther is any mud or trash in your carb clogging up a jet it wont idol properly. also locate, remove, and clean your pilot jet. its located outside the carb twords the engine, note how many turns out it is before you remove it. that way you know where to set it when you reinstall.

hopr this helps

if they find any mud in the carb im sure they will charge you most dealers look for any excuse to make it a nonwarranty issue. and a dealers usually charge like $80-90 for service per hour

dose the exhaust smell rich? if so its not combusting, no spark. have you done your first maintinance on it yet? plug, oil, valve adjustment, and filter cleaning?

i doubt its the spark plug, if its fouled or junk it wouldnt run at all.

on all the mechines i work on, reguardless of brand, first maintinance includes a valve adj. you would be surprised how off they can be after 10 hours. check the plug just for ***** and giggles
