Well, since you are having issues deciding, you should think about this: What do you plan to do with ATV's in the future? Track riding? Trail ride? Drag racing? Look for the machine that will last you the longest in terms of reliability, size, and power. Also look at your trails, I'm not sure about the width of either, but if they are extremely tight, go for the more agile with more low end and less width. Personally, with no experience with either machine, I'd have to say the R700 because you need a machine that will last without as much overall money put into it in my opinion. Dodge57Hemi made a lot of good points, and I personally agree with what he said in his last post

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>Originally posted by: DODGE57HEMI

You can allways stroke abd bore anything if you have the money but most of the time it is more cost effective and more reliable just to buy a bigger machine.</end quote></div>

I learned that hard way when buying a little 250ex, as did you! I am most likely buying an 08' z400, because I'm very small, about your age but 5'3 100 lbs. I do think it will last me, and the 250ex will go to my brother.

Anyway, my advice pretty much stands, if your areas of riding support it, buy the R700 for overall cost effectiveness, longevity, and probably fun. Plus you said you like speed....and I'm pretty sure the R700 has a lot a lot a lot of top end!

Either way, I think you'll be very happy with the results, just take good care of what you get and it will be fun!

GL bro!

i have a raptor 700 is it is by far the best quad i have ever owned. in stock form the suspension is good being that it is the same suspesnion 450s use. also it has been out sence 06 and has no real problems. engine and tranny are bulletproof. efi system is great. much better than any other quad right now once u start to mod. and there are more and more aftermarket parts coming now. stock bores are making 80hp now and big bore are making 100+hp so it will make as much power as u want. also to add just with a exhaust, intake and a power commmder efi unit u will be in the low to mid 50 hp range. ask around and see what it takes to make a z400 make that kind of hp. i bet it is quite a bit of work.

lil-man, if you are planning on doing more track riding or wider trails you should probably consider a 450, like the LT-R 450 or a YFZ 450. I'm 15 as well, but am about 6'2, 180lbs, however my LT-R is fine. You have to understand that a Raptor 700 isn't necessarily faster than an LTZ 400.... the 700 goes fast by having a LOT of power, but it is really heavy. The LTZ is a lightweight ATV, with a slightly smaller engine, but none the less just about as fast, as it is a much lighter weight quad on a whole. You are a fairly small, lightweight guy, and I think that the LTZ would be fine for you.

You can sort of see how with a proper rider, they can come close in a race in this vid:

I know that the Outlaw comes first.... not sure about the order of the rest of them.

Nah I have the red, but what Canadian said is also a great point, so keep that all in mind. Check out all the 450's and see which one suits you if you want, good luck!

i personally dont think the 700 is amazing. ive seen stock 660s beat them with ease. the z400 will be fine, mine runs with 450s stock for stock--accel wise. pretty much its just a tiny bit of top speed u wont have. they say the z400 goes about 65.....how much faster do you need to go? the fuel inject should be even better for accel. z400 will not be outgrown by anyone who wants a very solid, versatile bike.

It all depends do you want a giant motor with enough torque to pull a house and is awesome in the trails?Or do you want the light nimble machine that handles like a dream?
