Default 04' Z400

My cousin is buying my XR so I'll have enough for the Z I want now. I just wanted some reviews from people who have had them for a while. I don't want something that is going to be breaking down alot. If the Z is going to have down time I'll have to settle for a 400ex. But I really want the power of the Z.

A few people have told me don't get them nothing but problems and others say they're pretty good quads. Just wanted some other peoples experience.

If your non-mechanically inclined, then get a Honda. I honestly think they are great bikes. Just one problem, a Z400 will walk all over it stock for stock.

I had a 01 400ex and don't get me wrong I loved it, but recently I purchase a 04 z400 and in the little time that I have owned it I notice that it has alot more power. That is really hard for me to come to terms with because I am a big honda man.

Dunno who has been telling you the Z is unreliable......but they are wrong.....

I have a 2005 and is has been excellent to me.... and I know probably a half dozen other guys who also have them ('03-'07) and none of them have had any problems..... In fact I think only 2 of the guys I know have even had to have their valves adjusted at this point.... The 400ex has legendary reliability, but the z400 has built quite a nice library of reliability all by itself.....

The only issue was the recall on the 2005 machine and the magnesium clutch covers, but I changed mine over to aluminum and that problem was forever gone.
