I have decided that my new Raptor is not as fast as i was led to believe, so I set out to find a Quadzilla. It seems that no one has a 500 for sale anywhere, much less one in good shape.I tried to buy mine back from the guy that i sold mine to a few years ago for $500 more than he paid me for it. He said"no way"So if any of yall know a good source for 500 Quadracers, the info would be much appreciated

I hear ya man, these 4strokes are forced down our throats and everyones "better than nothing" attitudes sing the praises of the bikes. As good as they may be for 4strokes they still don't equal what the LTs and Rs did.

I don't know what kind of riding you do,but in my opinion the raptor has plenty of power in all riding conditions. If you install a pipe, rejet, and open up the airbox it will run stronger everywhere.I have owned several LT 500's,although they are fast, they are just too big to flick around like a raptor or 250R.
I have also owned several '88&'89 250R's.These are by far the best handling quads ever produced. As far as power is concerned,if you were to install a big bore kit with porting, carbon reeds, etc.,you would be able to hang with an LT500 AND HAVE THE HANDLING TO BOOT!!
I really don't have much to complain about with my raptor. The power is strong the handling is good and it feels great in the air.Although, it doesn't turn or track through the whoops like a honda will,it definitely is a better quad than my LT 500 was.

Buddah, i have a question for you. How big are you? Size, height, etc. I'm am six feet tall, 190 lbs. and when i sat on a raptor it felt like a blaster! Granted they may have power, but doesn't it feel ergonomically and chassis wise small to you?

Freddie,
I am 5'11''tall and weigh 224lbs.The raptor feels a little bit cramped to me,but i have ridden it enough now, that it does not bother me at all.I just wish the seat height was a little lower.I installed a Dura Blue axle, plus 4'' and that made all the difference in the world. It corners a lot better now.

I have to agree w/ my brother Buddah. We have owned plenty of quads from all manufacturers. I think people need to understand that more cc's in a four stroke won't beat smaller two strokes. Would a 750 World Superbike beat a 500 G.P. bike? It wouldn't. Zilla's don't jump, shee's don't handle, Raptors don't hill shoot and so on. You need the quad for the riding you like to do most and thats why CC's isn't the only answer.
