Default fuel leak LTZ 250 quad

I have a 2007 suzuki LTZ 2007 quad. I have a problem with the drain line from the bottom of th float bowl. I found gas draining out of the float bowl when the quad was running and it ran bad. I took the bottom of the carberator off, the float bowl and cleaned it up, I thought the float was stuck. I put it back together and ran the quad. It runs good, but found a trace of gas at the end of the drain line, after a good ride up and down hills. I seen on the float bowl there was a metal tube that came up from the bottom of the bowl straight up. The drain screw had no effect on it, it was tight. Is this common because the metal tube that allows gas to excape when fuel is being pumped in.

The tube is there for a overflow you can spill some out when ridding. When the gas was running out of the tube you mite have had some dirt in the carb not letin the needle close or the float level is to high.
