I'm looking into getting a king quad 700. What year is the best year as far as reliability? Is there any year that is particularly bad and should be avoided? I've seen a few with power commanders. Is this something I should shy away from or is it ok?

all my buddies have 2007 kqs they love them my 450 is also a great machine

 

think the 05' was the year w/ the bad frame issue..know 3 that had their frames crack.

 

I would say anything newer than an '05 since that was the first year of production.

 

I agree with wildwest. The 05's (some depending on where they were manufactured) had frame issues and also a reverse issue. Never heard anything bad after that year. The twitchy steering issue is on all years (if you put on aggressive aftermarket tires). I have an 07 and love it...so far

Generally agree with everyone here.

If you want reliable, avoid quads in their first year of production and maybe their 2nd year as well. Go for an 07 or newer and you should be good.
