Default 07 King Quad 700 problem

Every now and then when I get hung up in the snow I get this weird sound that sounds like a belt slipping or something like that. Its only when you first get on the gas when you're stuck. Any ideas??

I have a 2007 King Quad 700

Thanks

Are you spinning your tires when it happens, or are you stuck?

I don't know much mechanically about these machines but I'm wondering if it could have anything to do with the V Belt driven transmission? Thats what the sound reminded me of.

It sounds like belt bark. It has to do with the fact that when your wheels are spinning fast and you come to a fast stop, it's the way the belt comes to rest. When you give it gas again the belts drops and catches. Nothing to worry about if that is it. Seems to be a Suzuki thing though they say it is an auto belt thing. I never had that noise with my Yamaha's but do frequently with the King.
Hope this helps.

Thats exactly what it sounds like. Hopefully its no big deal

I'm going to take it in to the dealer to have a clutch kit put in it and I'll have them check it out then.

Thanks

I would get the same sound on my 02 AC. It only did when I was plowing snow and would be going kinda fast into a snow pile (abrupt stop). That was a Suzuki motor and the tranny are very similar as well. I wouldn't worry about it to much.
