I am new to this forum, but maybe some suzuki lt250r freak can help. I just picked up this quad for 600 bucks. He said the engine was a 1991. I believe him because the engine is factory blue. He said he could not get it to run. I can get it to fire, but not run. I pulled the flywheel and see that someone has installed a new stator, I believe it is a "Ricky Stator." It backfires and kicks me back. So I retarded it. Better spark and less kick back, but still no run. I am wondering if the frame and harness may be for a 1985-86. Would or could this be the problem? There is no I.D. on the frame. I do have the Clymer manual, but does not help me with some questions that I have.

 

hmmm... lots of backfiring... check for craked or blown out reeds.
