i am geting a chance to buy a 1989 500 quadracer it is a verry nice bike has about 12 hours on it sence it has been rebilt but has ben parked for 4 allmost 5 years. the man that ownes it is 62 years old he said he rode it one time around the yard and parked it. what type of work would a bike that has been parked for 5 years need and is the price of $600 a good buy?

$600.00? Are you sure? I gave $500.00 for mine and it was a basket case. That is a super sweet deal even if it does have a few minor problems. Are the plastic fenders and seat cover in good shape. How about the tires? As far as things that could go bad in five years, I don't know. Just maybe some dry-rot or bad gas. I think some general cleaning and greasing will probably do and a new plug.

If you buy it and ride it, you'll experience a thrill like no other. NOTHING compares to the big 2-stroke in the world of atvs. The revving motor and 2-stroke sound get me excited. You'll soon realize why a lot of people really want one. Enjoy it and be careful, they are a lot of fun but have a nasty bite if ridden carelessly.

Reality check! No way are you going to get a Zilla for 600sss unless the motor is burned or the frame is serverly cracked and just about everything else I didnt list. Now if you want a quad to fix up the zilla would be your best choice. hell for 600 you can't go wrong. Look at it real good before you think you are spending money on a quad that you think will run! Ask yourself has it been in a garage ect when it was snowing or was it just sitting in the yard? Is there alot of rust ect ect! read before you buy!
