Whats up guys! Long time reader... Can a hot engine vapor lock the carb and stall the bike? Just got my 87 230e runnin good and was wide open in 5th comin home from a ride when it seemed like someone just shut off the gas. no chuggin or gurglin just died. i waited a few then she fired back up. i did have to tweek the idle a bit but ran fine a couple miles more wide open in 5th then did it again,i waited a few then fired up again and made it the last two miles home. I've had the carb apart and cleaned so not sure what else could be...

It is possible......
Was it very hot out?
It is possible, in extreme heat, the fuel actually can boil.... In MX racing, they keep the fuel on ice, and they use various shields under the gas tank to block the heat from the engine from cooking the gas.........basically the bubbles will starve the engine of gas, and it will stall.....but it will also start right back up too.....
