Hi guys, my 230e smokes like a banshee. How do you tell if your runnin to rich or burnin oil? The guy I bought the bike from rejetted the stock carb with bigger jets. I'm new to carbs and kinda learnin as i go.Anyway the bike runs good but smokes bad. Its probably rings but when i pull the plug its pretty black and a black plug either means to rich or burnin oil. How do i tell? thanx

 

Is the smoke blue or black? Black is too much fuel, blue is oil. You can smell the difference too if you know what burning oil smells like. It won't smell like a 2 stroke though. Too much gas smells like strong exhaust, oil smells kinda stinky and the cloud hangs in the air for awhile. The 230 oil problems are often due to a loose connecting rod, not just rings, so be sure to check the rod if you dig in.
