XC 20" tire and wheels

BTW - the BEST xc tire is actually a 20x10x9, or 21x11x9, its the ITP Holeshot GNCC. but they dont last long.
the razr 2's last longer but just dont perform nearly as good. and the maxxis ballance is a complete ITP GNCC knockoff.
Kenda Klaw's and Knarly's are also supposed to be really good tires and i know alot of people that are very happy with them. they also have another tire, i think its called the Kutter or something like that, and it looks real nice. check em out

Well I would not agree that the Razr IIs are inferior to the ITPs......... and there is really not much difference between a 20x10x9 and a 20x11x9...... in fact most people prefer the slightly wider 11" tire even in XC racing......
I also disagree that you NEED to buy Hyper wheels......unless you are a professional and need to save 3 ounces of weight they are a waste of money......
Regular DWT or ITP at the .190 thickness will work just fine....... I prefer DWT but in most cases with those you need to buy lug nuts for a Suzuki because generally Suzuki and Honda use acorn lugs, and DWT require flat caps.......
You won't be sorry if you go with Maxxis Razr IIs on .190 DWT rims.......

i said for SERIOUS xc, and it not all about weight. hipers are SUPERIOR to any aluminum wheel in terms of strength and durability.

I've seen situations where a HiPer has made contact with a rock and busted in a place and aluminum wheel would have likely barely bent. I personally run HiPers, but not because they are stronger and more durable... I'm in it for the light weight.
As for tires, I've tried nearly every combination possible and the 20x11-9 RAZR rear has brought me the best luck. I've grooved my center treads on them, and about every 2 races I turn them around. Have never failed me in any conditions, also lighter than a RAZR2 or ITP GNCC.
Second best I've found was the GBC XREX, and it's easy on the wallet... also in the 20x11-9 size.

There are a few other benefits to the Hypers besides strength and weight. The first is that the tires are much easier to get off the carbon matrix wheels vs steel or aluminum. Second, you can put new beadlock rings on cheaply and it looks like you have practically new wheels(nice after a grueling xc season.) Third, depending on the model you buy, you can just get the replace the center peice if you ever switch atv brands.
Number one is the ease of removing old tires. After struggling and needing help to break the bead on numerous metal atv wheels, the Hypers are a sweet respite and totally worth the extra $$. I can change out my fronts anytime with minimal sweat equity. My rears are dual beadlock, so no breaking beads there.
