09 kq 750
#1
I am currently looking at the 09 KQ 750. I was originally going to go with a 09 Grizz 700 but Yamaha's financing options are not that great.
How does the KQ compare?
I will be using it for ice fishing and hunting. Maybe some yard work too. I am looking for low end torque and not top end. I would rather stick with the a bigger CC machine and not go smaller.
KQ does have constant belt tension correct? I only want a quad that has this.
I am surprized at the low towing capacity 992lbs compared to the Grizz 1300lbs and the low rack capacity. Why is the KQ so low compared to the Grizz? According to the specs both machines are very close in dry weight.
How is Suzuki's reliability? On par with or better than Yamaha?
How is the low end torque?
What other selling points does the KQ have?
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Hello, I was also heavily leaning toward the Grizzly 700EPS. I learned of the stalling issues that plague the grizzly on Grizzly Central forums. While Yamaha seems to have addressed the issue for the 09 model, they are still failing to recognize the issue for the 07 and 08 models. From all the reading it seems there isn't an easy fix either. I refuse to give my money to a company that won't stand behind it's product. I know the KQ has a backup pull start and the grizzly doesn't. It also has a handlebar headlight, which is quite useful. Lets just go down the line: Can Am's are $$ and have that weak frame, Honda's have the dumb transmissions, Polaris is HEAVY, Kawasaki's are known for being in the shop more than on the trail, and now Yamaha with it's stalling issues. That only leaves the King Quad. I'm still waiting till the 22nd to see if Polaris puts out a new Scrambler thought.

i have only had my 750 KQ for about 2 weeks. i love almost everything about it. the rev limiter will not allow you to go hard at all if the front diff is locked in. that sucks when you are in a big mud hole and want out.
