king quad year?

Question king quad year?

I have a king quad 300 4x4 and I'm trying to figure out the year if anybody could help it would be greatly appriciated. someone told me that if I check the serial number and count to the tenth one and whatever that # is,which mine is 2 and that would mean it's a 2002. could someone please verify this.

The 10th digit on Suzuki should be the model year. Also, the 2002 KQ300 was the first year with disc brakes on the front. Prior to that both the front and rear brakes were drums. So if you have discs, then it's a 2002 or newer - drums would make it a 2001 or older model.

I can't remember how long they kept the KQ 300 in production - 2003 or 2004 I think.
