Don't know what you have tried yet. Did you try to PRI first, check to see if you have spark & fuel? Make sure the cyl. was TDC? valve clearance. Do you have good compression?

Check the CDI box for corosion, loose terminals, or terminals that may have pulled out of the plug during disassembly. I've had this happen to me.

i had this same problem with mine i blew it up and put a new piston and rings in it and lasted about 30 hours so i put another set of piston and rings in it and it wouldnt run had spark fuel and air.... so my teacher in my vo-tec class wanted to do a demonstration about the head and the valves since it was already taken apart and found out that the exhaust valves were not closing all the way so thats why i had no compression. so get a valve spring compressor and take the valves out and spin the velve around the valve seat and you should notice if they are totally closing or not if their not then you need to cut the seats and it should be fine if you do not know much about what your doing then just bring the head to your local dealer and let them do it it shouldnt cost much at all possibly an hour worth of labor if thats not your problem then im sorry i wasted your time and good luck

A compression test would be the way to go, followed by a leak down test if the compression is low. Sure beats taking off the head to look at the valves.
