Default starting an engine on a stand

I have a Suzuki 300 engine. (Not sure of model or year.) All i have is the engine. and i want to start it on a stand. I was wondering if any one knows what I will need to start it. (carb, ingination coil, Battery, Etc.)

Basically you need the entire wiring harness. i just started an LT230s proto type engine on a stand. you need a ground so the voltage regulator can dump the excess charge so it doesn't burn out the CDI. Finding out the model and year would be helpful so you dont get any short circuts or backfeeds of current any where.
