Default Suzuki lt 230 issues

I recently picked up a Suzuki lt230 for 200 bucks and have begun the process of restoring it. I have it firing up easily with minimal smoke at start up that goes away after 30 seconds. I need to know if anyone knows the valve clearance specs and if any knows how to get the rear brake caliper piston to slide completely into the caliper. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Atvman29 has a website, called The Vault. Here is the link.
Home (Suzuki LT230S Vault)

Go to the Help and How To section. The page you want is called Adjusting The Valve Lash.

Also feel free to join us in the big 230 thread. 85-88 quadsport help

Thumbs up

If you 230 is the sport model it should have a parking brake lever on the back of the rear caliper. loosen it up and make sure its fully released and take a small C- clamp while using an old brake pad and tighten the clamp down on the old pad and the back of the caliper. this should draw the piston inside the caliper.

No problem man. if you go to the Vault you can take a look at my restore project that i just completed. It took just over 3 months to complete. It will give you an idea how clean a 20+ year old quad can look.
