Thumbs up Ozark 250 maintenance questions

New to the forum, be gentle!!! Need maintence info on 06 Ozark. Bought recently and came with NO owners manual. What I need till I get a proper owners manual/service manual is the oil change specs with filter, how much what viscosity, the rear end lube amount and weight and the valve lash settings. I live 50 miles from the nearest suzuki dealer and would like to get these services completed, myself, ASAP. I want to ride this thing and KNOW its got new fluids and a valve adjust. ANY help would be greatly appreciated. BT

You can buy a PDF service manual for the Ozark on Ebay for a few dollars, or download a copy if you can find one.

In fact here's a factory manual right here:

Personally, I would drain the oil, measure how much came out and put the same amount of synthetic oil back in and call it a day.
Don't skimp, because the engine is aircooled. So you REQUIRE a synthetic oil or at least semi-synthetic for good oil life.
I like to use HDEO (Diesel) rated oils in my quads, such as Rotella 5W40 synthetic, but feel free to choose another overpriced oil like Motul or some other 12.99 a quart stuff from a dealer.

Depend on the amount of hours on the quad, I wouldn't mess with anything else except the oil and air filter. It's shaft drive so no chain to worry about. The Ozark was designed to be a low-maintenance quad.

Default Ozark service

Thanks for the response. What I did was to call Suzuki USA and speak to a tech. Got the service specs for oil change, rear diff, valve lash and spark plug gap. I waqs going to do as you suggested. do a drain and meassure and then top up slowly to the dipstick. Didnt have to though. I DID use Rotella Syn. Thats what I have been using in ALL my machines lately. Excellent product and avail at Walmart for $19/gal. MUCH cheaper and better IMHO, because of the diesel additive package, than other M/C specific oils. I AM going to get a proper manual though. The one on Ebay says 02 LT250F. Mine is a 06 would that be the same. Thanks Bob
