Does anyone know if you can see the power valve actuator move when you rev up a 87 - 92 quadracer.
There is a little window on the side of the cylinder that you can see the power valve actuator arm, but mine doesn't appear to move. The only reason I question this is because power seems a little flat on top.

yes, it should move. loosen the adjuster a bit. Is it in the up or down position? Mine was stuck closed for a while, and it turned out it had just gotten caught up down in the case. I freed it up with just my hand, so no biggie.

It appears be in the up position. My clymer manual shows it in the down position for installation. I just got the cylinder bored and ported, and the power valve cleaned. The actuator arm is definatly towards the top of its motion when the QR is off. When I rev it up a little it doesn't seem to move at all.

what happens quite often is when people go to remove the cylinder, they forget to unhook the actuator rod until they feel the cylinder not wanting to come off and start looking for snags. By then, you have the actuator arm fully extended. This is usually when it gets caught up in the case and stays put. Pull the side cover (the one with the sight glass) and try to push the rod back down. You may need some needle nose pliers or something.
I would bet dollars to donuts this is what happened.

You are correct, I did exactly that, I pulled the cylinder up and felt the snag and then unhooked the actuator. I will remove the cover and push it down this morning

Thanks Buddy
