Default lt230 quad runner help

i have 2 issues number 1 i was riding in some really deep mud and i had some pretty thin oil in the motor that i forgot i had it in cuz i was trying to wash out all the **** cuz the previous owner changed the oil 1 time cuz he had a free change when he bought it any ways all the oil burnt up and i felt it running rough and grinding when i was shifting (it is a 5 speed semi auto) so i brought it to my friends house right down the road to my friends he had a little over half a quart so i put it in still grinded so i got it home and changed the oil put alright oil in it ran it for a few mins then changed it and put really good oil in it and it still has a slight grind when i shift is this possibly burning my gears up. number 2. my headlight didnt work since i bought the machine so i took the bulb out hooked it to a batterie and it worked nice and bright so i put it in and my igintion has to be i the perfect spot for the light to come on so when i run it, it turns on but itis not very bright ad it doesnt really make a diffrence between high and low.(i do not have a battery on the quad).... but when i rev the quad up i figured the light would get brighter but no in fact it gets dimmer and when i shut the machine down as the rpms are droping just about to stop the light gets to the brightness it should be then goes off when the motor dies all the way..... do i need a battery to run the light but why does it get dim when it revs up and get bright just before it dies im thinking a bad ground but not sure. thanks for any help

Mine does the same with the headlight brightness/dimming as you described. I just bought mine. Did not put battery in yet. did you find out the answer to your questions?
