Anyone know anything of the Tecate? HE claims that in stock form it's a banshee beater. I don't buy it.
What do you guys know of them?

stock for stock it is faster than an lt250r but it should get beaten by a banshee. also the LT handles better than the tecate.

I have a copy of a test done in 1988 of the Tecate, Lt250r and 250r they claimed the tecate was the fastest of the lot, top end. They didn't have much low end power, suspension was behind the other two, and handling was down a little. I don't think one in stock form would beat a Banshee. As the Honda and Suzuki are both suppossed to have 28 HP in stock form and the Banshee is suppossed to have 34HP stock.

Hey, the Tecate was the baddest 250 made(power wise) stock is a realtive idea, but with a pipe and properly set up a Tecate could beat a Banshee, remember weight gentlemen. The Tecate may be down a couple HP to a Shee(we dont know) but it is significantly lighter and trust me Tecates rip.
