i have two wireing harness there both 86 im trying to get rid of the extra wires that i dont need like the lights and im getting rid of the charging system so i was seeing if anyone can send me a pic of something like that or a stock harness with everythang hooked to it or tell me wich wires to get rid off thx

 

heres my wiring diagram for my quad racer ignition system. i made a seperate system for my lighting so i could take it off whenever i wanted and not bother the ignition system. and it works for all lt250rs and lt500rs and maybe even lt230s's

 

thx man thats exactly what i needed to u have a digram for the lights because how u did it sounds alot better than what i wanted to do

 

the lights all you do is run you hot wire through a switch and ground the lights. make sure on your hot you jump it off to your voltage reuglator

 

ok so thats the yellow and red wire comeing out of the motor then hooke it to 4 wires 1 ground 2 for lights and 1 for my rectofier

 

you shouldnt need a ground because your engine is grounded to frame and wiring harness. the wire coming out is hot so you run it to your switch then your lights. and all you do for the regulator if you have the stock one is tie a wire into your hot and where it bolts to frame make sure its clean under it or in bolt hole because that is where it grounds to frame

well holy crap i just joined last night because i was hoping some 1 could help me with a wiring diagram for my wheeler im building a quad racer250 i had a 92 motor already then last week found a rolling chassis but the guy i bought the frame from unplugged every thing and then painted the frame black along with the wires however im missing the cdi box a guy told this morning that the cdi, and coil from a 86 will not work with my 92 motor is this true?it took some modifacations to get the motor in and pipe because the frames are a little different but i made it work you guys must be a godsend thank you please let me know anything that will be usefull to me and my low budget build thank you

 

now im just itching to ride it so looking at your diagram thats all i need stator,cdi,coil,and kill switch and she will run i dont need rectorfier or any thing else,also probably a stupid question but i have a cdi to a yz490,and a 300ex could i use either one of those oh yeah i got a blaster one also

 

how is the seperate lighting system set up?
